ANDANTE is a music learning app spanning multiple genres and disciplines of music.
This mobile app can be used by musicians of all ages and skill sets, any time or any place, bridging the gap in music learning accessibility.
While music lessons can be inaccessible to many due to high costs, time demands, or location, it is essential to make them available to any user despite these obstacles. ANDANTE has the flexibility to do just that. During initial wireframing, I chose to use a classic app design, with static headers and lower navigation bars that make it simple to toggle between pages, access saved courses, and find new ones to start.
ANDANTE uses distinct imagery to indicate various instruments and music styles to the user. I chose to incorporate a unique image for every course, making it easy to quickly differentiate one from the next. Horizontal scroll bars and accordion menus allowed me to include necessary information alongside this visual imagery without cluttering the overall design or overcomplicating the user’s experience.
A deep forest green complements the white space in the design with a cool, relaxed feeling. Due to the nature of digital courses, often requiring long sessions of reading or video watching, it was paramount that the design system focused on minimizing eye strain and only used colors where it is necessary to draw in the attention of the user.
